Evolving the Platform: From 3R‑1 to the 3R‑2

Prototyping is never a straight line. Things change, get refined, get rebuilt, and sometimes get rebuilt again. The goal is always the same: create a system that performs exactly as intended.

The 3R‑1 has proven itself to be a sturdy, reliable platform, but during our efforts to reduce shipping costs, we introduced a design change that created a weak point – to our standards. The main column developed a minor bounce — nothing noticeable during use, but more than we were willing to accept. When rigidity is one of your core principles, “good enough” isn’t good enough.

So we parked the 3R‑1 and shifted our focus to the next iteration.

Introducing the 3R‑2

Over the last couple of weeks, we designed, fabricated, tested, and refined what would become the 3R‑2. The goal wasn’t to reinvent the platform — it was to improve it. We carried forward everything that made the 3R‑1 strong and added new features that push the system further.

One of the biggest additions is universal pedal support with 20 degrees of tilt, giving builders more adjustability and compatibility right out of the box.

We’ve fully tested the new structure for load and stability, and the results are extremely promising. We’re now finalizing the manufacturing process and preparing a full demo. A video unveiling will follow once everything is locked in.
